Pray about Everything

We had a great night Sunday having a prayer focused Journey.  I LOVED seeing everyone spend time with God, on your own. I hope you got to experience some of God's peace that comes through bringing him your struggles, worries, thanksgiving, and other requests.

Now is the hard part. What are you praying for this week? What have you prayed for since Sunday? One of my biggest struggles is taking uninterrupted, quality time in prayer with God. It's hard to be still, to be quiet, to push aside the distractions.

One thing that I have found to help is  pick a time and stick to it.
Yes, pray all the time, pray throughout the day, pray whenever you can...but also plan and set aside a time, or it will never happen!

What works best for me is setting aside the first part of my day to spend with God. Before I do anything else...I pray, ask the Lord to direct my day, renew myself to following His plan and leave my worries at His feet.  I pray through the specific things i'll be doing....the temptations that I know will come...the choices that I'll have to make, and ask for God's presence to guide me in every single moment. And I try to spend time being silent, because prayer is a 2way conversation and God really does speak to us through prayer and His Word.
And on the days this doesn't happen? Oh man, do I miss it.
But it hasn't always been that way. Prayer used to be the 5 minutes before I fall asleep, 2 minutes at a red light between phone calls, 30 seconds before a meal (only if you were out with church people, of course) kinda thing. But once I began to see the power of prayer and the power of God's presence in my life ... it became SO.MUCH.MORE.

Maybe you're thinking - the bus picks me up before the sun even comes up, that's a joke. Well,  maybe right after school - before Facebook, before texting, before homework, before dinner - maybe that is your best time. Ok, so you have baseball practice, volleyball tryouts, a job, tons of homework after school - your best time might be before bed. Turn the phone off for a few minutes, turn down the radio, and focus some time with God.

Whenever you do it, wherever you do it - just pick a time and stick with it.

The presence of God you felt Sunday night IS WITH YOU every single moment of every single day.

Where did the Bible come from?

In a small group a couple weeks ago I was asked how the Bible got put together - who wrote it, and how did all of that happen.

Here's a website that does a great job at explaining it AND has answers to tons of other questions: http://www.gotquestions.org/what-is-the-Bible.html

What questions do YOU have about the Bible?
